Dental Assistant

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist dentists during a variety of treatment procedures, ensuring patient comfort throughout.
• Set up and sterilize dental instruments and equipment before each use.
• Provide clear aftercare instructions to patients following dental procedures.
• Manage and update patient records while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Ensure all dental work areas and tools meet health and safety sterilization standards.
• Adhere strictly to infection control protocols and use of PPE.
• Support front office tasks such as scheduling appointments and handling patient inquiries.
• Educate patients on effective oral hygiene and promote dental health awareness.
• Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and stay updated on the latest dental practices and Penda Health protocols.
• Contribute to quality improvement initiatives through clinical audits and implementation of best practices.
• Uphold ethical and legal standards of the medical profession, ensuring patient confidentiality and privacy.
• Comply with all healthcare regulations, policies, and guidelines to deliver safe, high-quality care.

QUALIFICATION
• Certificate in Dental Assistant course or equivalent qualification
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Familiarity with dental equipment and sterilization techniques
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning
