MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN
General Purpose
Our client, a market leader in the Food Manufacturing Sector, seeks to hire a highly proficient Mechanical Technician to support its mission of producing high-quality food products for communities across Africa.
Location: Nairobi - Industrial Area | Salary: Ksh. 60,000 (gross)
Duties & Responsibilities
- Carry out machine checks at the beginning of each shift to ensure all machines are in working condition.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, attend to any breakdowns/challenges/repairs as required to reduce downtime and make machines available for production.
- Regularly monitor machine outputs to ensure they are all running as per capacity, as guided by the supervisor.
- Ensure adequate and timely preventive maintenance is carried out for all machines under the responsibility of the supervisor – Maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections, maintenance, and cleaning of equipment.
- Record operational data and maintain logs as required.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Ensure machinery and equipment operate at optimal levels by performing calibrations and adjustments.
- Regular training sessions with machine operators and Team leaders on critical areas of machine operations.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years in a mechanical technician or maintenance role.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems and safety protocols.
- Experience in FFS machines will be an added advantage
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
