Medical Director

Job Summary:
The Medical Director will be responsible for providing clinical leadership and ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality healthcare services. The role involves oversight of medical staff, clinical governance, patient safety, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement of clinical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical oversight and leadership for all clinical services.
- Drive the implementation of quality assurance programs, patient safety protocols, and clinical risk management systems.
- Develop and enforce evidence-based clinical guidelines, care pathways, and service standards.
- Monitor clinical performance metrics and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support talent development and performance management of clinical staff.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, licensing requirements, and professional standards.
- Collaborate with heads of departments, health professionals to ensure integrated, patient-centered care.
- Lead clinical audits; case reviews and morbidity and mortality meetings to strengthen accountability and learning.
- Champion a culture of ethical practice, teamwork, and excellence in clinical service delivery.

Qualifications:
- Educational background Master of Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution, Postgraduate qualification in a medical specialty, public health, or healthcare management is an added advantage, Must be registered and in good standing with the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
- Extensive Leadership Experience: Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience, with at least 5 years in medical leadership or administration, ideally within a reputable setting.
- Proven Leadership & Decision-Making: Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams, manage complex operations, and make sound, independent strategic decisions.
