QUALITY CONTROLLER
Location: Thika Processing Plant
Reports to: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager
ABOUT THE ROLE
Kenhic PLC is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Quality Controller to join our Quality Assurance Department. This role is responsible for quality conformance checks and inspection of ingredients, raw materials, packaging materials, in-process and finished products. This role ensures that all products meet established food safety and quality requirements while driving a culture of continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Implement and monitor quality and food safety requirements across receiving, production, storage, and dispatch.
• Conduct real-time quality checks, sampling, laboratory testing, and sensory evaluations.
• Ensure accurate documentation, traceability, and timely reporting of product quality and process deviations.
• Investigate product nonconformities, customer complaints, and support root cause analysis with timely corrective actions.
• Participate in new product development, including testing, reporting, and specification development.
• Conduct internal audits, monitor KPIs, and GMP compliance, and ensure sanitation schedules are met.
• Manage QA programs, records, and compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• Provide quality and food safety training to staff to support a sustainable quality culture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma in Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or related discipline (bachelor's degree is an advantage).
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in FMCG or food manufacturing.
• Sound knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and QMS.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a team player.
