Procurement Officer (Manufacturing Sector)

Our Client, in the manufacturing industry seeks to recruit a Procurement Officer. He/she will be required to acquires goods and services for the organization by managing the entire procurement process, from planning and sourcing to contract negotiation and supplier relationship management

Job Location : Mlolongo, Mombasa Road

Key Duties & Responsibilities
• Implement the procurement policy and procedures for the company.
• Ensure that purchasing is done in a transparent and accountable manner.
• Work with suppliers to ensure that key processes are running efficiently and are cost-effective.
• Review delivery orders to ensure supply is met, taking availability, cost, manufacturing process, and lead times into consideration.
• Identifying areas of potential savings and advice on whether to purchase or lease
• Create a forecast/Budget of demand to be prepared for the upcoming requirements of raw materials
• Ensure timely preparations of requisitions and LPOs
• Ensure strict control of quality for the purchased goods/services.
• Provide analytical reports on purchases.
• Make information available in the database and filing system.
• Ensure procurement documents and records are maintained, safeguarded, and archived as required by law.

Essential Skills, knowledge & Experience
• Bachelor's Degree/diploma in Procurement /Supply Chain or related field
• At least 4 years’ experience working in a similar environment, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Membership in a relevant professional body
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
• Internal consulting and advisory skills.
• Planning and organization skills
• Decision-making and problem solving.
• Oral, written communication and presentation skills
