📢 ESSA is hiring: Director of Policy & Impact
(Remote: Senegal preferred, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania)

Education Sub Saharan Africa (ESSA), an impactful organization driving evidence-based education reform across Africa, is seeking a Director of Policy & Impact to lead their mission of translating research into transformative policy change.

This pivotal leadership role will bridge the gap between research, policy, and practice while overseeing ESSA's Policy & Impact Team and Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning function. You'll drive uptake of African-led evidence by policymakers and funders to improve education quality across the region.

🔹 Ideal candidate:
– Proven track record influencing African education policy at highest levels
– Senior leadership experience with strategic planning and team management
– Strong MEL expertise and evidence-based impact demonstration
– PhD or equivalent experience in education/social sciences
– Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (French desirable)

🔹 Details:
– Location: Remote (Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Senegal, or Tanzania)
– Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
– Direct reports: 4 team members + Policy & MEL teams leadership
– Competitive salary, regionally adjusted
– Travel required within/outside Africa
