Clerks of Works

The Clerk of Works is responsible for ensuring that construction projects are carried out to the required quality standards, specifications, and statutory regulations. Acting as the client’s representative on site, the role involves inspecting workmanship, materials, and compliance with approved plans and design.

Requirements
• Degree, HND, or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Surveying, or related discipline.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role (Clerk of Works, Site Supervisor, or Quality Inspector).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills.
• The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Professional integrity and impartiality.
• Ability to challenge contractors constructively when standards are not met.
• Commitment to health, safety, and sustainability.

Responsibilities
• Site Supervision & Monitoring
• Monitor progress and quality of materials used on-site.
• Ensure health and safety standards are observed by all contractors.
• Carry out regular inspections of construction work to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and building regulations.
• Monitor progress and quality of materials used on-site.
• Identify and report any defects, poor workmanship, or deviations from agreed standards.
• Maintain accurate records of site activities, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Ensure materials delivered to the site match required specifications.
• Attend site meetings and provide input on progress and quality issues.
