LOGISTICS MANAGER

Job Summary
Danco Capital Ltd is a leading and fast-growing manufacturer offering quality and sustainable water, sanitation and telecom solutions with a regional presence in Africa. We are seeking to recruit an ambitious and aggressive Logistics Manager to lead and optimize our logistics operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating transportation systems, ensuring timely delivery of goods and materials. This role requires a strategic thinker with the ability to implement solutions that reduce costs, improve service, and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities
1) Responsible for developing and managing fleet budget, identifying inefficiencies and implementing strategies to improve logistics processes, reducing costs and enhance service delivery.
2) Responsible for leading, coaching, mentoring and training logistics staff, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring adherence to Company policies.
3) Responsible for scheduling and overseeing routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections to ensure fleets are in optimal condition.
4) Ensuring the fleet complies with all relevant regulations, including registration, licensing and safety standards.
5) Responsible for monitoring and managing delivery timelines to ensure products are transported within scheduled windows, proactively identifying and resolving delays to maintain service quality.
6) Tracking logistics metrics and generating performance reports to inform strategic decisions and operational adjustments.
7) Managing relationships with vendors, including fleet maintenance providers, parts suppliers and fuel company.

Qualifications and Requirements
1) Bachelor of Procurement and Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or Business Administration with a logistics focus.
2) 4-6 years of proven work experience in Logistics or Supply Chain in a manufacturing or similar industry.
3) In-depth know how of Fleet management principles and best practices. FMCG.
