GENERAL MANAGER- EAST AFRICA

Our client IMCD is a leading distributor, formulators and solutions provider in Specialty Chemicals & Food Ingredients. They are looking for an experienced and strategic General Manager to oversee all business operations for their chemical distribution business in East Africa.

Reporting to the Managing Director, based in South Africa, the ideal candidate will bring deep industry knowledge, strong leadership, acumen and a results driven mindset to drive growth, operational efficiency and regulatory compliance across their region.

Qualifications
- Degree in Chemistry, Business Administration or related field (MBA or equivalent preferred).
- Minimum 10-15 years progressive leadership experience in chemical raw materials distribution or related industry.
- Deep understanding of Chemical products, supply chain and distribution channels.
- Proven track record in managing operations in Africa or emerging markets.
- Strong Financial acumen and P&L Management experience.
- Exceptional leadership, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong cultural awareness and ability to work across diverse teams and geographies.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to navigate complex and dynamic markets.
- High ethical standards and commitment to safety and sustainability.
