FARM OPERATIONS MANAGER
Our client is a diversified agribusiness enterprise engaged in commercial Herb cultivation, dairy farming and hospitality management. They are seeking to recruit an experienced highly competent and results-oriented Farm Operations Manager. The position is based in Nanyuki and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the agribusiness to ensure operational efficiency, productivity, and profitability across the various business units.
Key Responsibilities: -
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily farm operations, including resource planning, commercial herb production, grading, packing and preparation for export.
• Oversee and coordinate the farm’s dairy operation.
• Develop and implement farm management strategies, operational plans, and budgets.
• Drive a culture change program that focuses on efficiency and productivity.
• Supervise, train, and motivate farm and support staff to achieve performance targets and maintain high standards of discipline and productivity.
• Ensure optimal utilization and maintenance of farm machinery, infrastructure, and resources.
• Oversee quality control, stock management, and compliance with agricultural, health, and safety standards.
• Collaborate with the hospitality team to develop the business and grow revenue from the various streams, while assuring guest experience.
• Monitor financial performance and prepare regular operational and management reports.
• Drive innovation and continuous improvement in farming practices and sustainability initiatives.
Requirements: -
• Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• Minimum of 10 years’ progressive experience in managing a mixed or commercial farm; experience with herbs or dairy operations will be an added advantage.
• Experience in packing, grading and export of horticultural products required.
• Proven leadership, supervisory, and people management skills.
• Proven experience in change management.
• Strong planning, budgeting, and analytical abilities.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Project management skills.
• Proficiency in farm management systems and record-keeping.
• Valid Kenyan Driving Licence
