POLICY OF THE SCHOOL: PCEA Booti Girls’ School is an institution that focuses learning institute for girls. Located in Karawa Sikari Estate, Karawa County. *Duties of Teachers include:
a. Creating and maintaining conducive learning environment.
b. Conducting lessons as per lesson plan and curriculum.
c. Inspiring and motivating learners.
d. Keeping record of student’s progress.
e. Mentoring and counseling learners.
f. Participating in co-curricular activities.
g. Attending staff meetings and submitting reports.
h. Maintaining discipline and order in and outside the classroom.
i. Providing progress and report forms.
j. Ensuring good behavior among learners.
k. Undertaking research and professional development activities.
l. Performing any other duties assigned by the head of school or the Principal.
Job Purpose:
Actively encourage and facilitate the development of each student’s academic, social, emotional, spiritual, physical, and creative needs. Inspire students and learners to achieve their highest potential.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Teach students and manage their platforms, preparations, recordings, assessments, and reporting most students’ learning.
- Learning and social needs.
- Prepare all professional teaching documents and continuously update them.
- Create a stimulating and challenging, friendly, supportive and organized classroom and general learning and academic environment.
- Be able to use digital devices to aid presentation for students’ learning.
- Ensure there is appropriate learning materials for all learners.
- Maintain proper discipline and professional relationships with students, parents, colleagues and others in the school community.
- Maintain innovative teaching techniques to enhance learners' learning ability.
- The no-nonsense student’s manners of course and discipline are key.
- Improve and update policies and procedures in accordance with the law.
- Be an active member of the faculty and encourage learners’ diversity.
- Implement school policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the law.
- Serve as a listener to ideas and/or feelings, listen to any and all concerns related to learners’ social, emotional, intellectual, and physical health.
- Support schools, students and other institutional environments to the fullest and uphold honesty and respect for the school community.
- Contribute to a school-wide or parent/guardian conferences as directed.
- Any other responsibilities that May be assigned by the principal or supervisor.
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor of Education degree (secondary option) or Diploma in Education in relevant subject combinations from a recognized institution.
- Post-graduate Diploma in Education (or a approved institution where necessary).
- A C.P.E. or similar and at KCSE in the subject(s) of specialization.
- A minimum of three (3) years experience in the learning area applied for.
- Evidence of CSEC training.
- A committed Christian with a recommendation letter from their church pastor.
- Computer literacy and ability to integrate technology into teaching and learning.
- Valid TSC registration.
- A certificate of Good Conduct.
- Clear communication skills.
- Proven writing and decision-making skills.
