JOB TITLE: ELECTRICAL ENGINEER
Department: Electrical | Reporting to: Deputy Manager Electrical
Direct Reports: Electrician | Duty Station: Berbera, Somaliland

Purpose of the Job
To enable consistent performance of assets by designing and delivering integrated asset management and electrical maintenance solutions.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the consistency of electrical attributes of assets with their design and operational information throughout their lifecycle.
- Perform analysis and modeling to understand the behaviour of machines and equipment.
- Assess plant operations and procedures to understand and improve their productivity and efficiency through electrical maintenance interventions.
- Analyse electrical maintenance team and operator’s suggestions, historical asset behaviour to understand root causes and determine solutions that can improve asset performance.
- Participate in the design and implementation of advanced electrical maintenance programs and procedures.
- Ensure preventive, predictive and reliability centered maintenance programs are in practice.
- Design integrated electrical maintenance solutions to improve asset performance and reliability.
- Perform research on electrical engineering domain and maintenance to introduce best practices.
- Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine and system malfunctions.
- Implement reliability engineering principles to enhance the reliability and performance of critical assets at optimum cost.
- Respond to electrical failures and incidents in a systematic manner; which may include incident detection and identification, fault analysis, use of standard responses, temporary and permanent repairs.
- Initiate tests of complete units and components under operational conditions to investigate proposals for improving electrical performance of equipment and machines.

Generic Duties of the Position
- Assist immediate manager in preparation and implementation of work plans, budgets and schedules.
- Prepare, communicate and implement weekly and daily work schedules for his or her unit.
- Coordinate and supervise daily operations and service delivery within his or her unit.
- Coach, train, educate and mentor subordinates and support them in handling complex issues in their assigned duties.
- Evaluate and report the periodic performance of subordinates and provide them regular feedback and support to improve their performance.
- Provide support to immediate manager in all matters related to the management and supervision of subordinates, operations and resources within his or her unit.

Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with eight (8) years of direct related experience.
