Description

The Sheria Ya Vijana Project (SYV) 2025 has just launched a crucial call for applications aimed at catalyzing youth-led innovation across Kenya’s green and digital economies.

Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC) is currently inviting youth-led organizations, social enterprises, and youth networks based in Kenya's Nairobi and Kwale counties to apply for the program, seeking innovative ideas in research, skill-building, and business solutions that can spark real climate action.

Co-funded by the European Union, the initiative seeks to empower and engage young people as central figures in driving inclusive growth, innovation, and civic participation, directly responding to systemic challenges such as high youth unemployment and limited formal training in critical sectors like digital literacy and the green economy.

Through this comprehensive effort, SYV plans to directly reach 5,875 young people, with a focus on inclusion (60% female and 3% persons with disabilities), and is expected to indirectly benefit over 1.8 million youth across the country.

The consortium implementing this impactful project includes Barnfonden in partnership with WeWorld, Action for Sustainability Initiative (AFOSI), Organization of African Youth-Kenya (OAY), and Stretchers Youth Organization (SYO), with the KCIC serving as the enterprise development partner.

Deadline is December 19, 2025 and it is targeting the onboarding of twenty high-potential youth-led businesses per county.
