Head of Tour Guide Drivers

Duties & Responsibilities:
• Supervise and manage a team of tour guide drivers, ensuring high standards of customer service and professionalism
• Plan, allocate, and monitor daily driving schedules, routes, and safari itineraries
• Train drivers on safety protocols, wildlife knowledge, customer care, and company policies
• Oversee vehicle readiness, ensuring regular servicing, cleanliness, and compliance with safety regulations
• Handle client concerns, incidents, and emergencies promptly and professionally
• Coordinate with the operations team to ensure seamless tour experiences and timely departures
• Maintain driver performance records, attendance, and disciplinary documentation
• Ensure drivers adhere to ethical wildlife viewing practices and conservation guidelines
• Evaluate tour feedback and implement continuous improvement measures
• Support recruitment, onboarding, and performance appraisal of drivers

Requirements:
• Diploma or Degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, Wildlife Management, or related field
• 6+ years of experience as a Tour Guide Driver, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership role
• Strong knowledge of East African tourism circuits, safari routes, parks, and wildlife
• Valid driving license with PSV
• Must be highly skilled in driving manual (stick shift) vehicles, including 4x4 safari vehicles
• Excellent off-road driving skills and terrain navigation
• Strong communication, leadership, and team management abilities
• Ability to resolve conflicts, handle customer complaints, and manage field-based teams
