Kenya Institute of Supply Chain Management Board (KISB) is established under Section 12 of the Supplies Practitioners Management Act, Cap 501. KISB is mandated to prescribe and regulate suppliers of innovative supply chain management professional certification, prepare and conduct examinations for persons seeking certification as procurement and supply chain management professionals, issue professional qualifying certificates and other awards, and promote recognition of its examination in various countries.

The Board is committed to adapting and implementing a framework to ensure efficient and effective service delivery. In this regard, KISB seeks to recruit competent and qualified individuals to fill the following vacant position:

a) Job Specifications

This is the entry grade for this cadre for degree holders. An officer at this level will work under guidance and supervision of a senior officer.

The duties and responsibilities of the officer will entail:
1. Sourcing for goods, works, and services as per the procurement law;
2. Raising purchase orders for goods, works, and services for approved purposes;
3. Liaising with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services;
4. Conducting market analysis to compare KISB standards for value of money;
5. Assisting in the evaluation of suppliers;
6. Participating in the opening quotations and tenders;
7. Providing secretariat services to tender evaluation committees;
8. Preparing and updating of procurement plans and other statutory reports; and
9. Any other duties assigned from time to time in accordance with the Public Procurement and Asset Disposal Act 2015, KISB’s Procurement Manual and Policies.

b) Person Specifications

• Minimum of a diploma or a certificate in supply chain management / procurement from a recognized institution;
• A Bachelor's Degree in Procurement & Supplies Management, Business Administration (procurement option), or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
• Certified Procurement and Supply Professional of Kenya (CPSP-I).
